PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treated steel sheet that has a high corrosion resistance, remarkably suppresses progress of corrosion from a worked part, also has a great suppressive effect against blackening of the surface under the environment of high temperature and high humidity and moreover, is excellent in workability, and provide a production method for the steel sheet. SOLUTION: The surface of a zinc plating steel sheet containing zinc of 30 wt.% or more, has a film, in which an organic resin, Cr, Ca and phosphoric acid or (a) phosphate compound are contained, wherein the coating weight of the organic resin is more than 50 mg/m2 and less than 5000 mg/m2, the coating weight of Cr is more than 1 mg/m2 but less than 100 mg/m2, the coating weight of Ca is more than 0.001 over but below 0.2 as Ca/organic resin (wt.ratio) and the total coating weight of phosphoric acid or the phosphate compound is 0.001 and over but below 0.5 as PO4/organic resin (wt.ratio).
