[Also in Group VIII] Apparatus for shaping a thermoplastic strip to form a filler rod used to weld thermoplastic parts together (see Group VIII), comprises a guide 2 through which the strip is passed and which has a central recess corresponding to the crosssectional shape of the strip. A hollow shaft 4 is rotated so that an adjustable cutter 7 mounted on a face-plate 6 integral therewith cuts the strip to the desired diameter and the finished rod passes through the bore of the shaft 4. |
