The character stamp consists of a die (11) and support (12) interacting with a matrix and support or frame, the die and its support being moulded together in one piece from injected plastic with a high charge of reinforcing fibres. The matrix and support can be similarly moulded, or the matrix can be of metal on a moulded plastic support, and the die support is equipped with hinge components (3) of the same reinforced plastic.
