The dispenser for self-adhesive labels mounted on a carrier strip (30) comprises a case (2) which contains the reel of labels. This has a roller (21) mounted near one upper edge. the carrier strip passes over this and back towards the opposite edge of the case, over a support surface (22). The strip can be moved back manually and labels are stripped off one at a time by the edge of a frame (4) mounted on top of the case.
