PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital copying device which achieves high productivity by requiring no time to determine picture orientation. SOLUTION: The digital copying device is provided with a scanner unit, a processing unit, a printer unit, and a control unit. The control unit automatically defines picture orientation on each document on the assumption that orientation of the document and the read direction of a picture on the document are always fixed to the scanner unit. When an operator guides an original document to this device in consideration of a certain direction, the processing operation related to picture orientation is automatically accurately performed in almost all the cases. As the result, many settings which must be normally inputted to define a copy job are made unnecessary. |
