PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actuate a proper number of cylinders in accordance with an engine driving state, to improve combustion efficiency, to reduce pumping loss and to improve heat efficiency by a valve stopping mechanism of a cylinder control type engine. SOLUTION: The valve stopping mechanism makes it possible to drive a valve by integrally connecting first and second divided locker arms by a pin 11 to move to slide by an electromagnetic drive device 1 or makes it impossible to drive the valve by making it in a non-connected state by dividing a locker arm 25 into the first divided locker arm 9 to respectively independently oscillate with a locker arm shaft 8 as an oscillating fulcrum and to oscillate as rotational motion of a cam 6 is given and the second divided locker arm 10 to give opening and closing motion to a suction and exhaust valve 2.
