PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slug conveyor capable of forming solidified slug having uniform size and quality by supplying molten slug to a mold on a specified condition, facilitating a treating process and a process to convey and preserve the solid slug, reducing a maintenance working amount of a slug conveyor by limiting a range in which molten slug is scattered, and suppressing the occur rence of a trouble, such as a failure in operation of a device. SOLUTION: Molten slug 15 discharged through a slug discharge opening 13 of a melting furnace 12 is supplied in a mold 14. During movement of the mold 14, the molten slug 15 in the mold 14 is solidified, and the solidified slug 23 is turned over and discharged on the moving end side of a conveyor where a plurality of the molds 14 are intercoupled. The slug conveyor 11 comprises a mold position detecting part 17 to generate a mold regular position signal by detecting that the mold 14 is situated right below the slug discharge opening 13, and a drive part 18 for a conveyor to output a mold regular position signal from the mold position detecting part 17 to a drive part 18 for the conveyor.
