An iron-cobalt alloy comprises specified amounts of cobalt, silicon, aluminum, manganese, carbon, a specified total of oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur, a specified total of silicon, aluminum, chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, and manganese, a specified total of chromium, molybdenum and vanadium, a total of specified tantalum and niobium and the rest is iron and impurities. An iron-cobalt alloy comprises by weight, 10 - 22% cobalt, traces - 2.5% silicon, traces - 2% aluminum, 0.1 - 1% manganese, traces - 0.0100% carbon, a total of oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur of traces - 0.0070%, a total of silicon, aluminum, chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, and manganese of 1.1 - 3.5%, a total of chromium, molybdenum and vanadium content of traces - 3%, a total of tantalum and niobium of traces - 1% and the rest is iron and impurities resulting from production. The following relationships are also satisfied: (a) 1.23 x (Al + Mo)% + 0.84 x (Si + Cr +V)% - 0.15 x (Co% - 15) <= 2.1; and (b) 14.5 x (Al + Cr)% + 12 x (V + Mo)% + 25 x Si% /- 21. Independent claims are included for bar, wire or plate of this iron-cobalt alloy, a method for producing the iron-cobalt alloy bar, wire or plate and electromagnetic actuator components fabricated in this iron-cobalt alloy. |
