PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a power source on a camera side from being uselessly consumed and also to surely prevent pictures from being uselessly taken. SOLUTION: The camera system is provided with a processing circuit 200 which is operated by a power supplied from a power supply means which is different from the power supply means of the camera, an electric contact group which is provided with a 1st contact (c) as a common terminal and 2nd contacts (a) and (b) for transmitting a start-up signal for starting the prescribed operation of the camera when a current flows from the accessory to the camera side, or from the camera side to the accessory and which is electrically connected to the camera, and a circuit 201 arranged between the 2nd contacts and the processing circuit 200 and for preventing the start-up signal from being outputted when the power is not supplied to the accessory.
