PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to generate an entire image precise over a wide area with less processing even when a relatively large blank exists in an original. SOLUTION: A structure analyzing part 24 analyzes the entire image of the original 2 picked up by an image pickup device 3 and finds a component such as a text on the original 2. A control information generating part 25 decides one or more partial areas and resolution in/with which the area where the component exists is picked up with respect to at least one component, an image acquisition control part 23 picks up the original 2 with the device 3 with the decided resolution in each decided partial area and obtains the partial image of each partial area. An image connecting part 26 generates a precise image by connecting partial images about the component from which the partial image of each partial area is obtained. An image reconstructing part 28 combines the image of the component extracted from the entire image and the precise image obtained by the image connection so as to make the relative position of the composite object image of each component equal to that of the original 2 and generates the wide area precise image of the original 2. |
