Apparatus has first bag(s) for receiving blood, etc from a sampling device via a flexible tube and anticoagulant and/or preserving fluid via a second flexible tube from other bag(s). A peristaltic pump acts on both tubes at the same rate and the cross sections of the tubes are such that the anticoagulant/preservative and blood delivered to the first bag(s) are in volumetric proportion. The pump has a single motor driving two identical rotors that squeeze the tubes simultaneously. The tubes are joined together downstream of the pump so the mixed fluids enter the first bag(s). Alternatively the two pipes are completely separate.
