An electrode (1) for taking measurements in aggressive media is made of diamond that includes a dopant that makes the diamond electrically conductive. Independent claims are also included for; (1) Apparatus for measuring resistivity and comprising at least one electrode; and (2) Use of apparatus for measuring resistivity in a hydrocarbon well that possesses casing, and within the effluent from an oil borehole.
