PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a half-melted billet of an Al alloy for transporting machines, in which the process is simple, the cost reduction of cost is achieved, and the uniform products is obtained. SOLUTION: An Al alloy having a composition containing, by weight, <=0.5% Cu, 5.0 to 10% Si, 0.2 to 0.7% Mg, <=0.35% Zn, <=0.55% Fe, <=0.5% Mn and 0.005 to 0.5% Ti, and the balance substantially Al is produced, next, work strain is introduced by cold form forging at a strain ratio of 10 to 40% at a work introducing rate of <=10 mm/sec. at <=200 deg.C, and after that, the alloy is held at 576 to 585 deg.C.
