PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a motor of a small capacity for a multistory parking device and to shorten waiting time for the elevation and lowering of a motor-vehicle- mounting pallet for bringing a motor vehicle in and out. SOLUTION: By providing the multistory parking device 1 with a balance weight 20 to offset the weight of the motor-vehicle-mounting pallet 10 and a drive shaft 9 to drive the motor-vehicle-mounting pallet 10 to be elevated and lowered with a balance weight 23 to reduce the torque of the motor 7, it is possible to reduce load and use the motor 7 of a small capacity. By providing the motor 7 with an inverter which makes its frequency changeable according to the motor-vehicle-mounting state of the motor-vehicle-mounting pallet 10, it is possible to elevate and lower the motor-vehicle-mounting pallet 10 at a high speed approximately in 5-8 seconds.
