The switch has two individual fuses (11,12) each having at least one contact pin (14,15). A locking mechanism (13) locks one of the fuses on actuation of the other so that the contact pin of the locked switch cannot be pushed so far that the contacts are closed. A bolt slider (18) is arranged between the adjacent ends of the contact pins and is moveable perpendicular to the direction of movement of the pins. The slider has padded inclined surfaces (19,20) adjacent the ends of the pins. When one of these is pushed by a pin the slider (18) is pushed in one or the other direction and one of two locking surfaces (21,22) of the slider is pushed before the other end of the pin such that the pin cannot be pushed so far that the contact is closed.
