The present invention relates to a hTAFII80 isoform, namely hTAFII80 delta , which comprises a 10 amino acids deletion, said isoform being capable of inducing apoptosis in mammalian cells. It also concerns the use of a compound for inhibiting or activating the expression or activity of hTAFII80 protein or isoforms thereof for treating diseases involving cell apoptosis, notably nerve cells degeneration, such as the Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson disease; cancer and AIDS. |
