The components permanent magnets (3), outer (2) and inner (4) magnetic return paths are held together by an injection molded plastic flange (5). An annular air gap (9) is left in which the winding assembly rotates. The inner return path has an internal bore (15) with bearing seats (16,17) turned so that they have relative max. concentricity tolerance of 0.02mm, the inner surface of the bore acting as the reference surface
