The front of the lens is protected by a pair of shutter blades hinged at one side of the lens mounting and driven by an electric servo motor. The motor is operated by a switch linked to the shutter release. This opens the shutter in the first part of its travel. The exposure control is blocked until the protective shutter is fully open. The integral shutter provides protection for the lens without having to find a lens cap. It can also be operated from a remote setting. A time delay linked to the shutter drive ensures that the servo motor operates for the required drive period. |
