The brake control device for a car and similar has: a brake pedal (1); a master cylinder (3) for the generation of a hydraulic pressure proportional to a brake pedal operating force; a main line (11) which extends from the master cylinder; a wheel cylinder (7) that is connected with the master cylinder by the main line; a branch line (15) which branches off from the main line; a brake pedal behavior simulator (21) which is located at the end of the branch line; a first electromagnetic valve (17) which is located in the main line between the branch line and the wheel cylinder to establish and interrupt a fluid connection between the master cylinder and the wheel cylinder.
