<p>A method of manufacturing a disk substrate (10) used for manufacturing an optical disk, comprising the steps of (a) forming a protective layer (12a) larger in plane shape than the disk substrate (10) on the surface of a transparent plate material (11a) and (b) cutting the other portion of the plate material (11a), having the protective layer (12a) formed thereon, than the outer edge part of the protective layer (12a) so as to form the plate material (11a) into a disk shape, whereby, because the protective layer is formed, the thin substrate is prevented from being scratched, and also a protective layer of uniform thickness can be formed.</p> |
