<p>A color modulator for providing intensity modulation for a display of an electronic device. The color modulator includes an input for accepting an intensity value from an electronic device. An output of the color modulator is coupled for driving the display of the electronic device. The color modulator includes a programmable memory for storing a programmable table of modulation values, wherein the modulation values generated for a lighting environment of the device. A frame counter is coupled to the memory for accessing the table. The frame counter functions by sequencing through the modulation values of the table to generate the output. The locations of the table which are sequenced through correspond to the intensity value received by the color modulator. The modulation values are stored within the table such that as the modulation variables are sequenced through by the frame counter, the resulting generated outputcauses the display to be optimized for the lighting environment of the electronic device.</p> |
