Antifouling treatment of ship hulls, by applying film of fat e.g. peanut or cocoa butter, to prevent fixing of mussels and algae

In a method for inhibiting growth of e.g. algae and mussels on ship hulls by application of a film of fat (to prevent fixing of the organisms), peanut butter, cocoa butter or another vegetable or animal fat is heated to 30-50 deg C and applied in liquid form to the ship hull to give a film of fat which makes the organisms slip off.
