An off-road machine (10) is provided with a hydraulic pump system (19) for operating drive motors (14A, 14B) for propelling the machine (10), as well as operating actuators (24, 27, 28) for machine functions. The hydraulic pump system uses three pumps (40, 42, 44), with the pumps (40, 42, 44) connected to a single high pressure relief valve. Additionally, two of the pumps (40, 42) normally are used for driving traction motors (14A, 14B) for the machine (10), and when a valve (106) is operated the third pump (44) flow is provided to both of the drive motors (14A, 14B) for the machine (10) to thereby increase the speed of machine movement. Additionally, a dump valve (70) is used for insuring that the flow from all of the pumps (40, 42, 44) will be diverted to drain unless an operator ready signal is present.
