An envelope, wherein a sheet is double-folded so as to form a front sheet (10) having an address surface and a rear sheet (11) having a folded-up surface, a sealing area (S) having an opening (17) is provided between the front sheet (10) and the rear sheet (11), the opposed surfaces of the front sheet (10) and the rear sheet (11) are stuck directly to each other at the side parts (f2) thereof excluding the opening (17) and a folded line (13), and the front sheet (10) and the rear sheet (11) are generally overlapped with each other so as to form the generally entire area of the sealing area (S) with the same number of sheets.
