PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a desired print processing can be carried out easily and quickly while avoiding execution of unintended print processing. SOLUTION: In case of a print job requiring stapling, a decision is made whether the print job has such a number of print pages as can be stapled or not based on the size of a stapling needle after the image data of the print job is generated and stored (S1-S5). If it can not be stapled, a decision is made whether print processing is canceled or not, and the image data is erased if it is canceled (S8→S7) otherwise print output, rotary sort output, or soft sort output is executed under that state depending on the intention of the user (S8-S13). |
