PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of spot jointing and spot jointing apparatus which simplifies quality control, improves running cost, and remains no indentation, etc., on the jointed part. SOLUTION: The spot jointing apparatus 1 includes a joint tool 2, an induction motor 3 for rotating the joint tool 2, a servo-motor 4 for moving the joint tool 2 along an axial line L1, a receiving member 7 arranged opposite to the joint tool 2. The tip of the joint tool 2 includes a shoulder 20 on a short column, and a pin 21 projecting downwards along the axial line L1 from the center of the lower surface of the shoulder 20. Two works such as Al alloy plates are placed in piles on a receiving member 7, the joint tool 2 is lowered as rotating, thereby the joint point P of the work is heated and softened by frictional heat of the rotating joint pin 21, plastic flow is caused and agitated, and the work is united in a body at the joint point P to achieve the spot jointing.
