PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for returning a paste in a difficulty in a scooping-up residue of a thick film printing paste. SOLUTION: The method for returning the paste comprises the steps of raising a squeegee 16 to an intermediate point (a point D) of a height position hs where a lower edge 60 of a height position between a height position hp at a sliding time of the squeegee 16 at a slide finishing end (a point C) and a height position hb at a paste conveying time to a slide starting end (a point B) is contacted with a screen 92 in a non-pressed state, thereafter directing a scoop 18 toward the squeegee 16, and thereby scooping up a thick film print paste 94. Thus, when the paste 94 is scooped up, the paste 94 is not pushed by the squeegee 16. Accordingly, the screen 92 is not locally recessed but becomes substantially flat. Therefore, a close adhesion fault of the scoop 18 with the squeegee is suppressed.
