<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a succinimide acid compound by reacting an amino acid with an acylating agent of hydrocarbyl-substituted succinic acid-type, and to provide products useful as a dispersant and the like, which is produced through the reaction of a pendant-type carboxylic acid part contained in the succinxmide acid compound with various compounds. SOLUTION: A succinimide acid compound obtained by reacting an alpha- omega amino acid with an acylating agent of hydrocarbyl-substituted succinic acid-type. Further, a derivative of the succinimide acid compound useful as a lubricant additive, a lubricant dispersant, a friction reducing agent, a cleaning agent for a liquid hydrocarbon-based fuel, an antioxidant, and a cleaning agent for alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal.</p> |
