PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ester by a transesterification reaction, by which the ester, especially an ester having two or more ester groups, in particular, a (meth)acrylic ester having two or more (meth)acryloyloxy groups, can simply be produced in a high yield and in a high purity without employing a complicated reaction process and a catalyst to be difficult to handle. SOLUTION: This method for producing the ester by the transesterification of an alcohol with a carboxylic ester, characterized by using a phosphine compound and a metal compound containing one or more metals belonging to the group II and/or the group IV in the periodic table. |
