PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems or the like of thinning of a print image density due to insufficient replenish and supply of an ink to an ink reservoir caused by a severe consumption of the ink when printed to obtain a printed product having a large print image area and a connection with a decrease in the image density. SOLUTION: A printer comprises, in addition to a first reference signal generator 4 for generating a normal ink amount reference signal S1 having a predetermined pulse width, a second reference signal generator 6 for generating a reference signal S2 for increasing the ink amount of a pulse width longer than the predetermined pulse width, a CPU 10 for switching the normal ink amount reference signal S1 to the reference signal S2 for increasing the ink amount, and an image memory 11 for storing image data. In this case, the CPU 10 is a control means for switching the signal S1 and the signal S2 for increasing the ink amount in response to calculated image area amount by calculating the image area amount from the image data stored in the memory 11. |
