PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change an overlapping order of recording dots by recording heads by setting a transfer direction of a recording medium the same when recording is carried out, and shifting a relative position of the recording heads in a longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: The color recording apparatus has a transfer means 2 for transferring the recording medium 5, recording heads 131-134 for a plurality of colors set parallel to a direction nearly orthogonal to the transfer direction of the recording medium 5, and a recording head position-changing means 15 which can independently change positions in the longitudinal direction of the recording heads. The color recording apparatus forms recording dots by a resolution of N times a resolution of the recording heads (N>=2) and includes an overlapping order-changing means 33 which changes the overlapping order of recording dots to be formed by the recording heads by shifting the relative position in the longitudinal direction of the recording heads, while keeping the transfer direction of the recording medium 5 the same to the recording heads when recording is carried out. |
