PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding device for a mold, in which the mold in a molding box has a predetermined hardness and pattern faces for both of the mold and molding box roughly coincide each other. SOLUTION: In order to obtain a predetermined hardness of a mold, a molding chamber for the mold is formed by determining a compressed stroke amount of a necessary model plate according to experienced knowledge. After blowing and filling molding sand into the molding chamber, the molding sand is compressed and processed to the mold, and an upward stroke amount of the model plate is also measured. The upward stroke amount of the model plate is calculated so that the pattern faces of the mold and the molding box are coincided with each other, based on a coefficient computing from the upward stroke amount of the model plate and a pre-obtained compactability value of the molding sand. The position of the model plate is compensated by a computed result of the upward stroke amount of the model plate when blowing the molding sand into the molding chamber for the mold.
