PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the durability of a solid catalyst for treating wastewater from lowering even if phosphorus is present in wastewater. SOLUTION: Wastewater is brought into contact with molecular oxygen in the presence of the solid catalyst while held to a liquid phase to preliminarily remove phosphorus contained in wastewater before subjected to oxidizing treatment.
