PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly connect posts to a connecting rod of a display stand or the like by preventing the connecting rod from slipping off upward. SOLUTION: This device for connecting the connecting rod 3 of almost square cylinder shape opened at both side ends, between the mutually opposed faces of a lateral pair of posts 1 of square cylinder shape, is provided with a connecting plate 10 provided at its side end with an engaging piece 10a of downward hook shape projected from the side end of the connecting rod 3 so as to be engaged with an engaging groove 1b bored in the opposed face of each post 1. The connecting plate 10 is rigidly fixed to the nearly center part in each side end part of the connecting rod 3, and a fixture 12 with a projecting part 12a insertable in a locking hole 9 bored in the opposed face of each post 1 is accommodated in a void space in each side end part of the connecting rod 3 formed outside of the connecting plate 10, in such a manner as to be laterally movable and to be fixable to the connecting rod 3 by the operation of a fixing means 14 inserted through a sideward guide hole 13 bored in either one of the front and rear faces of the connecting rod 3.
