PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accurate and rapid process of sorting paper sheets into ones with affixes on and the others with no affixes on. SOLUTION: This paper sheet sorting device comprises paper feeding parts 1, 3 and 4 to take out paper sheets one by one from among a number of paper sheets 1a in which paper sheets with affixes on are mixed and feed them in order along the given routes; detecting parts 9 and 4 by an ultrasonic sensor to detect the presence or absence of an affix on each paper sheet 2 fed in order along the given route; and sorting parts 10 and 4 to guide each paper sheet along a first route or a second route based on the detecting result of the detecting part in order to sort a number of the paper sheets into ones with affixes on and the others with no affixes on.
