PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technique enabling lawn yellows to be effectively ameliorated in a harmless way to either man or beast. SOLUTION: Lawn yellows can be ameliorated by utilizing a metabolite produced by thermophilic and alkalophilic Bacillus licheniformis. Above other things, an agent for ameliorating lawn yellows which comprises a metabolite- containing mixture prepared by formulating a Bacillus licheniformis-culturing solution of 1 pt. wt. with starch of 2-6 pts.wt. is effective, and moreover an agent for ameliorating lawn yellows which comprises 100 pts.wt. of the above metabolite-containing mixture, 100-150 pts.wt. of a water-soluble iron compound, 50-100 pts.wt. of citric acid, 5-15 pts.wt. of nitrogen and 1.5-3 pts.wt. of magnesias is effective.
