PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an S/N and a contrast of a calculated image in a method and an apparatus for displaying a fluorescent image for displaying the calculated image based on a self-fluorescent image generated from an organism tissue by emitting an exciting light. SOLUTION: The exciting light is radiated from a GaN semiconductor laser 114 to the organism tissue 10. The self-fluorescent image Zj generated from the tissue 10 is transmitted through an optical transmission filter 303 and detected as two fluorescent images having different wavelength bands by an image detecting unit. An image calculating unit 400 adds an offset value to the each image, then calculates to standardize to generate the calculated image and displays the image on a monitor unit 600. The S/N and the contrast of the calculated image are remarkably improved by adding the predetermined offset value to the each image before the calculation for standardizing.
