PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system further improved in reliability without the large increase of cost. SOLUTION: Even when an ECU 21 gets high in temperature, openings 20b, 21b allow air to move into a motor housing 20a from the interior of an ECU housing 21a, so that the interior of the ECU housing 21a can be restrained from having high pressure. Even when an electric motor 20 gets high in temperature, the openings 20b, 21b allow air to move into the ECU housing 21a from the interior of the motor housing 20a, so that the interior of the motor housing 20a can be restrained from having high pressure. Further, the openings 20b, 21b are sealed from the outside by an O-rings 23, so that the intrusion of foreign matter such as air containing moisture and muddy water from the outside is prevented to permit the normal exhibition of the functions of the ECU 21 and electric motor 20.
