SOLUTION: Barium titanate is manufactured by the heat treatment of the mixture of BaCO3 powder with TiO2 powder of which the specific surface area is 10 m2/g or more. Oxygen partial pressure is low in the heat treatment. When the oxygen partial pressure is more than 2×102 Pa to 2×103 Pa, the temperature of the heat treatment ia 700-1000 deg.C. When the oxygen partial pressure is not more than 2×102 Pa, the temperature of the heat treatment is 600-1100 deg.C.
