BRAKE FOR WHEELCHAIR AND WHEELCHAIR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair a brake which can prevent the projection of a tire holder when a main wheel is removed from a wheelchair and the wheelchair which can easily pass through even a narrow passage. SOLUTION: In the brake for a wheelchair the tire holder comes into contact with or is separated from a tire tread in response to an operation lever. The tire holder is configured to bend only in the direction to come into contact with the tire. Even when the main wheel is removed, the wheelchair can run with a front wheel and a caster. The tire holder is bent after the main wheel is removed so that it will not project from the side of a wheelchair frame.
