PURPOSE: A method for storing a character linked with a computer system and a control method thereof are provided to enable a unique character stored in a character storage to represent in a computer and to user as a lock or security device of a computer system. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises a connection device(22) connecting with an external input/output terminal of computer system(10) by a USB(Universal Serial Bus) type, a controller(24), a memory(26) configuring with a non-volatile memory element, storing the information for a character and the updated character information by the controller, and at least one or more devices(20) from a remote starter remotely starting a vehicle, a pass means paying the fare of bus or subway, a time output device displaying the time and outputting an alarm, and an audio player storing and replaying an audio signal. The figure of character is a doll, an animal, a robot or an alien. The controller is equipped with a program, provides a specific information to the computer system by connecting a signal terminal to the connection device, communicates to an external device without a user's operation, provides the information of character to the computer, and updates the character information by receiving the processed result from the computer.
