PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for shortening the time of transmitting the data necessary for appropriately operating the other electronic unit from one electronic unit to the other electronic unit, and an apparatus using the method. SOLUTION: When the electronic units are electrically connected to each other, the data read-out symbol is transmitted from one electronic unit to the other electronic unit, and the other electronic unit receiving the data read-out symbol reads out the corresponding data from the memory storing the data corresponding to a plurality of kinds of data read-out symbols, and incorporates it into a program operated by the other electronic unit.
