PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a branched polyester having excellent solubility in various organic solvents, which is possible to be synthesized under moderate conditions and does not cause gelation thereof. SOLUTION: A production method of the polyester comprises reacting a dicarboxylic acid or its derivatives, compound having at least three hydroxyl groups in a molecule and a monocarboxylic acid in the presence of a hydrolytic enzyme.
