PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultra-small size electrothermal glass melting furnace which is compact and consumes less electric power by modifying the control system and the furnace structure such as the location of heaters. SOLUTION: This electric melting furnace utilizes an indirect heating system in which three heaters are disposed around the crucible, two at the right and the left and one behind, the front of the furnace is detachable, and as a whole the furnace has simple and compact structure as shown in the figure. The heaters are controlled by a programmed controller and a thyristor being silent and saving energy so that the consumption of electric power can be minimized.
