PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method in which stabilized printing is ensured even when ink is ejected at a period shorter than the reset time of a meniscus and a high quality image can be recorded at a high speed. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording method, an electromechanical conversion means varying the capacity of an ink channel defines the barrier wall of adjacent ink channels in an ink jet head comprising a piezoelectric element being deformed in shear mode and two or more of adjacent ink channels are subjected to drive control as a set. Before elapsing a time required for resetting an ink meniscus, in the nozzle of an ink channel ejected an ink drop with a first drive pulse, to a stationary position, a second driving pulse is applied to that ink channel and next ejection is effected.
