PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make paper sheets reliably enter a space between blades for stacking by controlling variation of the rotation speed of an impeller from a constant speed to a high speed. SOLUTION: This paper sheet stacking device comprises an impeller 6 having a plurality of blades 8 aligned at intervals of a given distance in a rotation direction and causing paper sheets P to advance in a gap between the blades 8 through constant speed rotation and guide it in a given direction; a stacking part 13 to stack the paper sheets P guided by the impeller 6; and a control means 22 to discriminate whether the forward end parts of the paper sheets P are collided with the tip part of the blade 8 and prevent the occurrence of collision through control of variation of the rotation speed of the impeller 6 from a constant speed to a high speed when there is a fear of collision occurring.
