PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously satisfy the smoothness in expanding and contracting a shock absorber and the ensuring of a wheel grounding area setting in a strut- type suspension device provided with a coil spring located at a side of a wheel, and to allow the strut-type suspension device to be used in an automobile having a low hood where the coil spring can not be mounted on an upper side of the wheel. SOLUTION: The coil spring to be mounted at the side of the wheel has the shape of a bobbin or a cone, its central shaft is laid while preventing the interference with the wheel at its small diameter part, and the shock absorber in the coil spring is mounted in a stood state, whereby the smoothness in expanding and contracting the shock absorber and the ensuring of the wheel grounding area in steering can be simultaneously satisfied. |
