摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet imaging apparatus in which overshoot/ undershoot of a carriage can be dealt with and print dots can be formed uniformly in the acceleration/deceleration region of the carriage through reduced processing. SOLUTION: A correction value determining section 12 is prestored with a correction value table formed of speed deviations from a standard speed and corresponding correction values of print timing. AΔTn measuring section 11 measures the rising time intervalΔTn (n=1,2,...) of a timing fence detection signal (Phase. A) from an encoder and determines a speed deviation from the standard speed. The correction value determining section 12 determines a correction value (count) based on the speed deviation and the correction value table. A print timing correcting section 13 adds the correction value to the count for the standard speed. Based on the corrected count, a counter 14 outputs an ink ejection timing signal. Print dots can there be formed uniformly in the acceleration/deceleration region of a carriage by reducing shift of print position and overshoot/undershoot of the carriage can be dealt with.
