PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output unit in which stoppage of the unit due to sheet end error can be prevented when a sheet requested by print data is not present and print results is available even if a user does not set the requested sheet. SOLUTION: A decision is made whether a print sheet requested by print data delivered from a host computer body 1 is set in an image output unit body 15 or not. If it is not set, a decision is made whether a combination of the print sheet requested by the print data and the print sheet set in the body is present in a conversion table 14 or not. If it is present in the conversion table 14, a user is requested to make a decision whether N-up print is carried out or not and, depending on a reply to that request, N-up printing is carried out on a currently set print sheet under control of an N-up print control section 12. |
