An interpretation managing system adaptable to interpretation to multiple languages even in special fields involving technical terms without the need of any telephone operators and any interpreters standing by in specific places. The system includes an interpreter table containing interpreter designation information for designating an interpreter, language information representing languages that interpreters can interpret, interpretation time zone information representing the time zones when interpreters can work, and contact information representing the contact information about the interpreters. According to the content of the interpreter table and in response to a call from a user, business of interpretation of a specified language can be done. It is possible to call an interpreter being free and set up a call between a user and the called interpreter to enable interpretation by the interpreter. Further reservation information representing the reservation time when a user desires interpretation by an interpreter is contained in the interpreter table, and the user and interpreter are called at the reservation time. |
